Wildlife Awareness Notice – Calhan, Colorado
Residents and visitors are reminded that our Metro District is located in a rural environment where wildlife is active year-round. Encounters with animals such as deer, coyotes, birds of prey, rattlesnakes, and other native species are common. Please remain aware of your surroundings, especially during early morning and evening hours when wildlife is most active. Use caution in grassy, rocky, or undeveloped areas where rattlesnakes may be present. Keep a safe distance from all wildlife, never attempt to handle animals, secure trash and food sources, and supervise pets at all times. Respecting wildlife and their natural habitat helps ensure the safety of both our community and local ecosystems.
